Sir this topic is eye opener. If I sit down and think about all the business conducted by me from 1986 till date it can be described in two words “Network mining”. I remember doing cold calls in first few years of business, and latter on it wss word of mouth. I feel more confident after joing BNI and having such a positive guidance every week. Good Morning. I like the mining analog.

Early in the week, a colleague of mine asked if I knew of anyone in BNI who can service the air-conditioner unit in his house. This is the time for “Spring Cleaning” before Chinese New Year which falls on Valentine’s Day this year.

It has been 13 months since I first shared with him about BNI and have been updating him of all activities including our weekly Friday chapter meeting and last week’s BNI Big Breakfast cum International Networking Week.

Although there is no air-con specialist in my Raffles Chapter, I could still refer him to one in another Chapter and yesterday, the service was promptly done and my colleague was delighted.

So, I fully agree that referral marketing is like mining. Patience is key and result will come. Just keep farming and walk the talk.
